A B O U T D R J O H N C A R N E Y
Dr John Carney qualified from the University of Liverpool with Bachelors in Dentistry and a 1st Class Honours Bachelors in Physiology.
Having worked in practice in the north of Liverpool he joined the Oral and Maxillofacial team at University Hospital Aintree, training with world class surgeons.
In 2012 he passed the MFDS exams to join the Royal College of Surgeons.
In the same year he moved to Cumbria and worked in several practices as a general dentist.
In 2019 he bought his first practice in Grange Over Sands.
In 2023 he completed his Masters degree in clinical implantology from the University of Lancashire.
In 2024 he completed a diploma in soft tissue surgery around teeth and implants, being taught by the leading researchers and clinicians in this field.
In 2025 he joined VSSAcademy as an Education Lead for surgical and implant training.
Outside of the clinic, John runs a study club for implant dentists at the Univeristy of Lancashire, and hosts an online study club for dentists. He is a keen photographer and motorbiker.
