LOOSE OR DISLODGED BRACES/WIRES

If you wear braces and a wire becomes loose or dislodged, it may irritate the inside of your mouth. You can use orthodontic wax to cover the sharp edge temporarily. Call your orthodontist to schedule a repair appointment.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

  • Use orthodontic wax to cover any sharp or protruding parts of the braces to avoid irritation.

  • If the wire is sticking out, try using a pair of tweezers to gently reposition it back into place.

  • Contact your orthodontist immediately for a repair appointment.
